Theo works in a secret facility archiving changes to reality—erased memories, altered facts, rewritten lives. But when a photo of a daughter he never had appears and won’t be deleted, he’s forced to confront the impossible: he may be the one anomaly the system can’t contain.

Theo worked in a vault that didn’t officially exist.
His job: catalog reality shifts no one was supposed to remember.

He’d long stopped questioning why old news footage changed, why birth certificates vanished, why entire buildings were suddenly “never there.” His file system relied on anchor objects—photographs, handwriting samples, recordings—items that resisted the rewrites.

The newest entry disturbed him.

It was a photo of his daughter.

But he didn’t have a daughter.

He brought it to his supervisor, a man who never blinked.

“This isn’t mine.”

The man didn’t even look. “It is now.”

Theo tried to delete the file. The system reloaded it. Again and again.

And the photo—each time it reappeared, the girl’s expression changed. At first, she smiled. Then she started crying.
By the fifth load, she was screaming.

Theo took the elevator to the floor labeled “-3”—a level he’d never visited.

The hallway was lined with clocks, none of which told the same time.

He opened the door marked “Restore Anchor: Chen, T.”

Inside was his office.

And his daughter was waiting.
